MCA PROGRAM

The Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program was established during the academic year 1992–93 with the objective of creating new frontiers of knowledge and professionalism by imparting information technology skills to meet global competition. It also aims to identify and nurture young talent, especially from rural areas, in the field of Computer Science and Technology.

Since its inception, under the able guidance of successive principals, philanthropic management, talented and experienced faculty, well-equipped labs, seminar halls, and e-classrooms, the department has excelled in all aspects by producing skilled professionals for the software industry. Many of our alumni have secured prominent positions in leading multinational software companies such as JP Morgan, Microsoft, IBM, and Oracle, among others, across the globe.

The MCA program is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, with an intake of 60 students.

SVKP & Dr. K S Raju Arts & Science Collegewas one of the first affiliated colleges under Andhra University to introduce the MCA program in 1992.

Notable achievements include:

  • Two students, Karisinapu Vijaya Raju and Battelanka Divya, qualified APSET in 2024.
  • Three students earned Gold Medals from Andhra University:
    1. Mr. D. Srinivas (1996)
    2. Mr. S. V. Krishna Reddy (2007)
    3. Miss V. Sri Vallidevi (2018)

Additional student achievements:

  • Miss P. Sireeshasecured State-level Second Place in RANK Awards conducted by TV9, Sakshi, and Air India during 2008-09.
  • Mr. V. Rajeshrepresented Andhra University in Power lifting at the All India Inter-University Power lifting Tournaments in 2001–02, 2002–03, and 2003–04 held in Madhya Pradesh.
  • Miss V. Swathirepresented Andhra University in the All India Inter-University Handball Tournament held at Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu.
  • Miss K. Radhawon First Prize in a paper  presentation at a National Level competition organized by the Computer Society of India (CSI), Hyderabad on 10-11-2005

The MCA Department has organized various prestigious events:

  • A National Technical Seminar in 2010
  • The SAGA TechFest in 2019

In a recent achievement, 14 students from the 2023–25 MCA batch were selected for National Scholarships, with each student receiving ?3,00,000 (Rupees Three Lakhs). MCA students consistently publish journal papers each year as part of their academic projects.
