ECONOMICS - Profile

OBJECTIVES AND GOALS

  • To widen the student understands of Economics subject.
  • To develop in them the ability to understand and appreciate the finest aspects Economics subject.
  • To introduce them contemporary Economic problems and trends.
  • To make the subject a study of utility that can generate income.
  • To enable them to analyze and evaluate the various facets of Economic aspects.
  • To prepare them to face various competitive examinations and enable them to appear with ease and self-confidence for various examinations and for admission to Post- Graduate courses.
  • To train them effectively in presenting their skills so that they can be fully exposed  to get job opportunities in various departments like Indian Economic Service, Banking, Stock Exchange, Reserve Bank of India, Planning Commission and National Sample Survey Organization.
  • To utilize fully sources like Inter-Net services and equip them with computer skills.
  • To infuse strength among students community to face the onslaught of Liberalization, Privatization and Globalization (L.P.G)

 

HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

            Since the inception of the college(1974). Economics Dept of our college has been a jewel to the crowns since then the department has been active in doing sum useful extra workbesides the regular coaching. The department earlier it was composite department in union with Economics History and politics. The built-up in the area of the department is 25.7 Sq mts. The subject is taught at undergraduate level in the college in Telugu & English medium.

In 1974, the Department of Economics was established with the establishment of the college,. Sri K.V.V.Satyanarayana, M.A Economics was the founder head of the department a great scholar in the subject; he endeared himself to students as well as lecturer. He was promoted to regional joint director and Sri. Bapiraju, M.A economics become the head of the department. Himself being a practical Economist, he did much service to the improvement of the department .he got an opportunity to work as a lecturer in D.N.R. College of P.G courses, Bhimavarm and Sri P. Ramachandra Raju, M.A., Economics became  head of the department and his retirement.

Sri P.Appji Rao, M.A., M.Phil., assumed Head of the Department when he was about to retirement Sri. Dr.P. Janardhan Rao, M.A., B.L., Ph.D. has appointed as a Lecturer. He got an opportunity in central government Sri.V.S.L.N Shireesa become a lecturer in the department. she got marriage and left the college, Sri. A. Manikya Rao, M.A., M.Ed., M.Phil., he got an opportunity as a Lecturer in Economics at silver jumble degree college, Guntur. Present.1.Sri.P.Meeraiah, M.A., B.Ed., M.Ed., B.L.I.Sc., APSET. joined in the year 2011.working as a Lecturer in the Department. 2.Sri.M.Venkateswara Rao, M.A., joined in the year 2015.working as a Lecturer in the Department.
