P.G. Department of Botany

            The SVKP & Dr. KS Raju Arts & Science College has been started in the year 1974 at Penugonda, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh with graduate level courses, later introduced several post-graduate level courses like MBA, MCA, P.G. Department of Zoology, P.G. Department of Biotechnology and P.G. Department of Botany is the latest P.G. course which is introduced in July 2006 as part of the U.G. Botany.

            Due to the tremendous response by the student and demand management had been decided to start the M.Sc (Botany) course in this campus, in and around the province no colleges offering P.G. level.

            The department has spacious accommodation furnished with well-equipped laboratories and department library to meet all the requirements of higher learning of its students.

            The department has earned the status of a model faculty of its kind in the entire Andhra University area with its high academic standards, faculty members are doctoral degree holders from Indian prestigious educational institution NCERT (National Council for Education and Research) and best infrastructure facilities, congenial atmosphere and systematic approach of teaching and learning.

            It is not an embellishment to say that it is the liberal funding and best managerial organization enable the department to be what it is today even established in very recently.

            Even though the department is contributing its share of promoting and motivation research activities in the campus and trying to establish Model Department in both research and teaching. Most of the students form Telugu medium, rural and economically weaker section of the society, even in these challenging circumstances the department is striving to keep pace with those advanced courses by imparting quality education.

            The department has been trying to work with sincere zeal by faculty even it’s a self-financed course and going to introduce the certificate courses.
