INSTITUTIONAL  DISTINCTIVENESS::2021-2022

The College has completed 48 years of its existence by promoting excellence in the field of education. The College commenced its humble beginning in 1974 for imparting knowledge to the first generation learners of rural areas of Penugonda and its surrounding villages and to bring about a radical change in the society. The high ratio of female students enrolled and a good number of female staff recruited is a manifestation that women empowerment which is the need of the hour is prevalent. The College was awarded ‘B’ Grade in January, 2006, ‘B’ Grade in 2011 and ‘A’ Grade in March, 2017 in the third cycle of NAAC Reaccreditation. The college has been conferred with Autonomous status in Feb2019 for the period of 10 years. The UGC New Delhi has provided adequate infrastructure to the college. The secret of success is due to the remedial teaching which is undertaken to cater to the needs of slow learners. This Institution is known for having 9 faculty members with Ph.D. and10 with M. Phil. Our Institution promises to act as a facilitator to bring about a positive change in the minds of stakeholders.

Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari and Dr. Kalidindi Suryanarayana Raju Arts Science (A) College is pioneering educational institution providing educational opportunities to the surrounding rural areas. It is situated in the lap of nature with green surroundings in a rural area. The College has completed 47 years of its existence by promoting excellence in the field of education. This Institution is known for academics, sports and other extra- curricular activities. The College commenced its humble beginning in 1974 and imparted quality education to the first generation learners. The location of this College is endowed with natural beauty, serenity and tranquility. The ratio of female students is enrolled high and a good number of female staff are recruited on demand and it is the manifestation of women empowerment which is the need of the hour. The College was awarded ‘B++’ Grade in January, 2006, ‘B’ Grade in 2011 and ‘A’ Grade in March, 2017 in the third cycle of NAAC Reaccreditation. The college has been conferred with Autonomous status in Feb2019 for the period of 10 years. The College participated in NIRF during 2020-21. The new found status by way of NAAC accreditation and NIRF participation inspired the faculty and administrative staff to give their best which in turn resulted in quality enhancements in the areas of academics, sports and cultural activities. The vibrant IQAC’s exemplary work extended by the various committees brings the College to the forefront in various fields. The performance of our students in examination is exceptional in spite of the fact that majority of them have a rural background. The secret of success is due to the remedial teaching which is undertaken to cater to the needs of slow learners. Due to Covid pandemic the students were unable to participate in sports and games during lockdown period. However the N.S.S and N.C.C Units of the college extended community service through providing masks and sanitization during Corona pandemic period. The College has emerged strong in its pursuit for quality assurance to make this Institution a Centre for Excellence in line with the College Vision. Our faculty members are committed to the mission of our college. This Institution is unique and occupies a place of honour to find our alumni well placed in all walks of life. The College has completed 47 years of its existence by promoting excellence in the field of education. This Institution has earned its reputation for being a premier Institution in the State which is well known for academics, sports and other extra- curricular activities. The College commenced its humble beginning in 1974 for imparting knowledge to the first generation learners of rural areas of Penugonda and its surrounding villages and to bring about a radical change in the society. The location of this College is endowed with natural beauty, serenity and tranquility. The RUSA has provided 30 computer systems, 4 LCD projectors and one Digital Podium in addition to the scientific equipment worth of Rs. 400000/. The new building is under construction with RUSA grants. The UGC has also equipped the Institution with 2 virtual classrooms besides 1 Skill Development Centre with CPE grants. The vibrant IQAC’s exemplary work extended by the various committees brings the College to the forefront in various fields and materialises the concept of holistic development of the individuals. The performance of our students in examination is exceptional in spite of the fact that majority of them have a rural background. Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari and Dr.Kalidindi Suryanarayana Raju Arts & Science College is coeducational and situated in the rural area. The location of this College is endowed with natural beauty and serenity. This place is popularly known as Penugonda Kshetram, the birth place of Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari. Every year large number of rural students both boys and girls take admission in different courses of the college The College has a set of high values and standards for the improvement of community living. Combination of learning and curiosity of actions from the institution from years provide good actions for the betterment of the marginalised community, especially the scheduled castes,backward classes and differently abled students. The College is passionate about making a positive impact on them. The College gives priority to promote education for poor students and girls students of rural background. Poor students are provided scholarship under Poor Student Fund. The college inspires students and provides a platform for various skill development programmes, and placements in reputed software companies.  Gender sensitization is seen in different programmes such as lectures/seminars, sports competition, NCC and NSS units of the college. The rural background students can’t afford their education in the urban colleges. Our college provides academically to encourage them participate in extracurricular activities through NSS, NCC and sports. Students participate with full enthusiasm in each and every unit in academic as well as extracurricular activities of the college. The local people use college campus for running, walking, play ground for sports and gymnasium for body fitness every day.  The college always focuses on its vision and mission to assure the standard of the community’s performance through value added prgrammes. It is evident that the college provides quality education and opportunities for intellectual and emotional growth through different programmes which are relevant and responsive to the needs of the rural and educationally backward society of this region. It is fortunate that the college has well qualified faculty members in different departments. They have taken their degrees from the premier institutes from different parts of the state. Therefore, students from rural background are very much benefited from the faculty members. The College encourages its faculty and students to participate in seminars and conferences and promote a holistic teaching-learning environment. The nature care and environmental awareness is being promoted by Eco-Club and its members. The herbal garden and medicinal plants, avoiding the use of plastic, using bamboo made baskets and cloth bags are the unique examples of our eco-friendly behavior.The UGC, New Delhi recognised the institution as College with Potential for Excellence. The college was accredited by NAAc with ‘A’ grade in the year 2016.The employability skills of the rural students have been drastically increased through the activities of this institution. The record of each department reflects the rich legacy of the college itself. The Skill Development Centre, Innovation centre and Commerce lab were established in 2018. The college inaugurated NSS Golden Jubilee Celebrations on 24-09-2018.
