ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department was established in 1974 under the able guidance of two experienced faculty members Sri Kondamudi Sriramachandra Murthy and Sri Y.N. Sanjeeva Rao. The Department stands like a rock in the college administration and official correspondence. All the circulars and magazines and other important documents have been contributed by the Department. The Department generates interest among the students to study English Literature and Language in higher studies. The department in collaboration with social sciences organised a two day UGC National Seminar on “Human Rights – perspectives and Prospects” on 20th and 21st August, 2016.The department has its own Library. The Department by eminent professors organises guest lectures twice in every year. The department has a Language Lab with 20 systems. The Alumni of the department occupied important positions in various fields in the State as well as Central Government. The department offers a certificate course in “Communicative English” sponsored by UGC under Career Orientation Programme”. The Department handles classes for the Inter Disciplinary Foundation Courses i.e., Communication and Soft Skills in the Second, Third and Fourth Semester besides analytical skills in fourth semester which have been introduced during 2016-2017.
