In Recent years, Electronics the world over, has made unprecedented growth in terms of new Technologies, new Ideas and priniciples. The rate of Obsoleseence of technologies also has been extremely high. Academicians, Industries and the society at large have to work in unison to meet the challenges of the rapidly growing discipline. The research organizations and Industries that work in this frontier area are in need of highly skilled and scientifically oriented manpower. This manpower can be available only with flexible, adoptive and progressive training programs and a cohesive interaction among the academicians and industries. Since its inception in 1984 the department of Electronics has been consistently working towards this goal. The Well-Equipped laboratories form the  backbone of the Department by contributing significantly to the practical adeptness of the students. The Department offers courses, which are industrial oriented.

Weaknesses :

• Lack of electronic industries in the vicinity.
• Students admitting into MPE combination are with poor communication skills.

 Opportunities :

• There is an increasing demand for Electronics graduates in the industrial field.
• After graduation, there is an ample scope to opt for various courses like M.Sc., M.C.A., M.B.A, and so on.
• Students are eligible for all group services examinations like APPSC and UPSC.

 Challenges :

• As most of the students are from rural background without any basic subject knowledge and lack of communication skills, it is challenging for the staff members to achieve good pass percentage.
• Developing students with employability skills.
• To initiate collaborative activities.

• To enhance network with electronic industries through placement cell.
• To develop the Electronics Laboratory by introducing new and sophisticated equipment.
• To organize a seminar with the financial assistance of UGC, New Delhi.
• To initiate collaborative/interdisciplinary activities.
